Aroooooo!!!

February 6, 2010

I hate to admit this almost makes ONE of the commissions I did at a convention canon. Almost. I stress and stress and stress ALMOST. The commissioner knows what I’m talking about, you know who you are and keep quiet! Hahahah. Few clues here once again, If the bonus pages didn’t give you enough of that. The original sketch drawing gave away a lot more visually, but I like this better with the unsettled Vyse instead of surprised Vyse. I hope this still keeps my comic PG/PG13… I’m kinda… under contract now to do so but that won’t really affect the story or visuals too awfully much, it will just make it a bit more savvy.

I like the colors and the attention to detail that you put into drawing the two bags with their contents. I also really like the two drawings of Fox’s head that you did here, allowing us to see Fox with two completely different emotional expressions. I had to chuckle when I saw Fox with the “KAWAII!!” expression - huge anime eyes, big smile and hands held to her face. These two drawings also show us that she has finally cleaned off the bit of sealing wax that was still on the bridge of her glasses in the last comic.

The *ahem* pose for both Lieutenant Tiberon and Rear Admiral Vyse both look great and you did a great job with his “disturbed” facial expression.

I need to point out that the terminology that Fox used to describe her current location is incorrect if she is in fact where I think she is. Given the loudness of the Admiralty bells, that Vyse was able to easily gain access to where she was sleeping, the way that there was a large amount of sunlight shining on her in both the October 23, 2009 and the more recent January 17, 2010, and that the surface she is scratching with her claws looks to be a wall rather than a bulkhead all point to her being in a building on land (possibly even the Admiralty building) rather than on a ship. If she is on a ship, then her current location would be a cabin. If however she is in a building, then the proper term for her location would be her QUARTERS. :)
